Library of Electronics and Informatics faculty presents books exhibition “Vilnius”. Vilnius is the capital of Lithuania and it is the largest city in the country. The first known written record of Vilnius as the Lithuanian capital is known from Gediminas’ letters written in 1323. Vilnius is in the southeast part of Lithuania and it is the second largest city in the Baltic states. This city is the seat of the main government institutions of Lithuania and the Vilnius District Municipality. Vilnius is known for of its magnificent Old Town architecture, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994. In 2009, Vilnius was the European Capital of Culture. It’s the nice, friendly and green city with a fantastic green space surroundings.
