Book exhibitions to commemorate national holidays

Lithuania will soon celebrate two major public holidays: the 16th of February and the 11th of March.

February 16th is the Day of the Restoration of the Lithuanian State. 16 February 1918. The Council of Lithuania proclaimed at its meeting “the restoration of an independent Lithuanian state, organised on democratic foundations, with Vilnius as its capital”.
11 March is the day of the restoration of Lithuanian independence. 11 March 1990. The Seimas signs the Act of Restoration of Lithuanian Independence.

These days are special for each of us, reminding us of the importance of freedom, unity and patriotism.

To commemorate these historic events, we invite you to come and see the book exhibition “The Road to Lithuanian Independence” at the Study and Science Resource Centre (SMIC).

The Library of the Faculty of Business Management also presents a virtual exhibition of publications “The Restoration of the State of Lithuania”, featuring new and previously published publications on the restoration of Lithuanian statehood, the country’s most important historical events, and the people who built an independent state.
